I guess it's my turn!

Hello all! This week has been a lot! A lot of fun, a lot of classes, a lot of zoom meetings and a lot of learning!!

Things that happened:
-I gave my farewell talk
-I taught a lesson on the modern day weapons of rebellion
-I got set apart as a full time missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints
-Met my companions
-Met my district
-Met my teachers
-Met my branch president for the in person MTC
-Went to the temple for some pictures with my mom, my sister, and my nephew.

One of the first things we talked about was our fears and worries about the mission. Our teacher had us imagine ourselves having a conversation with the savior and telling him all the things we were worried about. And to imagine what he might say back to comfort us. This exercise, simple as it may seem, was very eye opening for me. I was able to find what was stressing me, and share my burden with the Lord. I know that he cares about my struggles and knows exactly how I feel. And giving him my fears and anxieties and being able to feel his love was very comforting.
In various classes, we spent a lot of time recognizing what experiences in our lives have shaped us, and strengthened our testimonies. Being able to sit and write down all of these life experiences and recognize how they have specifically built my testimony has been amazing!
My favorite verse this week was John 15:13
"Greater love hath no man that this, that a man lay down his life for his friends."
This is Jesus talking and I think it is such a beautiful verse. His description of love and also him saying that he is our friend. I have a harder time seeing Jesus as a friend. He is this powerful amazing and loving man, the son of God, and he chooses to be my friend?? Absolutely boggles my mind. But I know that my savior loves me. I know that he loves each and every single one of you. I know that he lives, and I hope you can continually turn to him this Christmas season.

Until next week,
Sister Jensen
